Netflix’s Buying Beverly Hills is a fresh new reality TV program that debuted on the streaming service lately. The series will highlight the finest of LA real estate, focusing on Mauricio Umansky’s The Agency and the individuals that helped make it a success. Mauricio Umansky is hardly a new face in the world of reality television. Kyle Richards from RHOBH (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) is his wife. Mauricio and his two daughters, Farrah and Alexia, who will feature in Buying Beverly Hills with him, have previously been on RHOBH.
Buying Beverly Hills will expose viewers to a slew of staff people that work with Mauricio and his children. Santiago Arana, the Principal and Managing Partner of The Agency, is one of them. He is also the country’s sixth most successful real estate agent, having closed many multibillion-dollar transactions.
Santiago Arana from Buying Beverly Hills grew raised in Bolivia and worked as a waiter in Los Angeles.
Santiago Arana, a Bolivian native, was working at his first job after graduating from college when he heard gunshots. This was not only a nuisance for him but also a wake-up call. That’s when his parents decided he should leave the nation and return after things calmed down. The Buying Beverly Hills star was then awarded a scholarship to study finance, but the course was conducted in English, which he did not understand. But it didn’t stop him from moving to the United States and sleeping on his aunt’s sofa for eight months. He only had $120 in his pocket at the moment.
In a DIGS podcast, Santiago discussed his hardships and how he got successful. Because he couldn’t speak English, the Buying Beverly Hills actor began working as a busboy. Four months after beginning to study the language, he was promoted to waiter, when he met his future wife. After learning about real estate from his relative, he took the plunge. He obtained his license and began working. But it wasn’t perfect at first. Santiago confessed that at some point, people stopped purchasing properties, and he ran out of money.
By 2012, the real estate market had begun to grow, and he had established a reputation in the sector; the Wall Street Journal named him one of the Top 250 Realtors in the United States. Since then, he’s been on the list every year.
Along with Billy Rose and Mauricio Umansky, he joined The Agency in 2013 as a Principal and Managing Partner. He has collaborated with superstars such as LeBron James and Lady Gaga. He has also surpassed other records and is on course to surpass $500 million in sales. According to The Agency’s official website, Santiago was named the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals® Latino Agent Award winner for sales volume. He has also been named one of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Most Influential People in Real Estate for the last two years in a row. Santiago has finalized nearly $4 billion in real estate transactions to far. From 2017 through 2021, he made roughly $2.5 billion in sales.
